Annual Studio Recital, 2026
Our Annual Studio Recital held in April has been over for a little while now, and it's taken me some time to write this post. I had been hoping to collect individual photos of all of our graduating seniors before they headed off to college, but as it often does, time flew by too quickly.
Before the recital, my wonderful studio assistants and I had so much fun making all the preparations for our recital. From organizing music and decorations, checking countless details, and making sure everything was set up and ready for our students and families, it truly was a team effort. Our assistants’ enthusiasm, dedication, and willingness to help out made the day run so smoothly and I am incredibly grateful to each of them!
I would like to take this chance to also express what a privilege it has been to teach such talented, hardworking students and to be surrounded by such incredibly supportive families. Thank you for trusting me with your children's musical journey - your encouragement, kindness, and partnership mean more than words can express.
I was so proud of every student at this year's recital. They practiced diligently, performed beautifully, and shared their music with confidence and joy. Watching each student grow—not only as a pianist but also as a person—is one of the greatest blessings of my life.
Every year, graduation brings mixed emotions. It is especially difficult to say goodbye to students who have been with Shepherd Piano Studio for many years. I've had the joy of watching them grow from little beginners into remarkable young adults. Although it's never easy to see them leave, I know they are stepping into an exciting new chapter of life, and that fills me with so much pride.
Their accomplishments belong not only to the students, but also to the families who faithfully supported countless practice sessions, lessons, recitals, competitions, and performances over the years. It has truly been a partnership between the student, the parents, and myself, and I will always treasure the memories we created together.
As we begin a new semester, I'm excited for another year of musical adventures! I can't wait to hear new repertoire, watch students reach new levels, and introduce many of the new teaching materials I've been creating over the past several months. There are so many exciting things ahead, and I look forward to sharing this journey with both our returning and new families.
To our graduates: thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your story. I will miss seeing you each week, but I know you will continue to make beautiful music wherever life leads you.
Congratulations again to every performer. Thank you for making this year's recital such a meaningful celebration of music, growth, perseverance, and friendship. ❤️🎹
